If you can find ASC on a birth chart, scurry across the circle to find DSC. These two labels mark opposite sides of the horizon for the recorded birth time and place.
Find the western point
DSC stands for Descendant, the point where the zodiac meets the western horizon. It sits opposite ASC and, in many chart layouts, marks the start of the seventh house. Easy to spot once you know where to sniff.
Read it with ASC
For example, if ASC is in Aries, DSC is in Libra, the sign opposite Aries. You need a birth time and place to find that pair reliably; a birthday alone isn't enough.
Use it as a relationship question
Western astrologers link DSC with the seventh house and one-to-one relationships, including partnerships. You might ask how you listen, cooperate, or set boundaries with another person. This chart point can't reveal a future partner’s sign or tell you what someone else will choose.
A few common questions
Can DSC tell me my future partner’s zodiac sign?
No. DSC is a point in your own chart. It doesn't identify a particular person or decide how a relationship will turn out.
